MULTI-PURPOSE USV
UHR 3D seafloor mapping. Kietta USV advanced capabilities (size, stability, endurance) can be brought to the multi-purpose mission market by integrating multi-physics instruments e.g. towed streamer/sparker-boomer, multi-beam echo sounder, side-scan sonar, sub-bottom profiler and magnetometer.

As part of the evolution and improvement of its FreeCableTM system, Kietta is developing a new modular, multi-purpose USV concept. It will improve the quality of data acquisition and logistics by enabling the equipment to be transported in standard containers. Its modular design will streamline manufacturing and maintenance costs and expand Kietta service offering to multiple opportunities by facilitating the integration of diverse payloads.
Following the feasibility study of a modular, containerizable catamaran-type USV, a 1:5 scale model was created. The objective was to validate the hull design, the implementation of the innovative propulsion system and associated command & control, as well as the assembly principle of the modular USV i.e. mechanical assembly of the hulls and the platform housing the payload, consistency of the functional links between hulls (electrical, IT), control, and performance.

OCEAN – OIL SPILL CLEANUP
Cleanup
(Ocean or Oil Spill)

The Kietta design for ocean – oil spill cleanup uses a towed, floating structure. The structure acts as a containment boom. A permeable screen underneath the float catches subsea-surface debris.
It incorporates a several hundred meters barrier and two Kietta USVs tow the u-shaped barrier through the seawater at few knots. Thanks to a specifically developed command and control software, the structure can be repositioned quickly to adapt to the hydrodynamics of the debris flow or oil spill.

HARBOR TUG OR COASTAL TRADE WITH USV

Kietta automated mini-tugboats can be used to ship payload in a port for the last mile logistics or transporting cargo along a coastline. These surface autonomous vehicles being shallow draft, they can sail in shallow water where deeper-hulled boats cannot.
FRESHWATER TRANSPORT WITH USV

More than a third of the world’s population is already experiencing an acute shortage of fresh drinking water. There is also a problem with the quality of drinking water. The problem is partially solved by the desalination of seawater and the transportation of water by tankers but at a regional scale, a solution using autonomous and unmanned vehicles may be desirable to reduce shipping cost and turnaround time.
